Also an accomplished clogger, he often accompanies the band as a foot percussionist, raising the energy level on the dance floor to wonderful heights. Woody has brought his exciting brand of calling to dances from Alaska to Florida to Boston, and he has a growing reputation throughout the country. A veteran of many calling tours around the U.S., he has also been on staff at numerous dance weekends, including camps in Montana, Oregon, New Mexico, Alaska, Kentucky, and the 2008 National Folk Festival in Butte, Montana. Woody lives in Roseburg, Oregon, in the beautiful southwest corner of the state.

Woody Lane hails from Roseburg in southwest Oregon and has been calling for over 25 years. Known for his smooth contras, fast squares, and superb programming, Woody calls extensively throughout the Pacific Northwest and West Coast, and has a growing reputation throughout the country. Woody has called more than 500 dances since he moved to Oregon in 1990. He generally calls modern contras with an occasional chestnut, along with squares and other formations. Also an accomplished clogger, he often accompanies the musicians as a foot percussionist, raising the energy level on the dance floor to wonderful heights. He has brought his exciting calling to dances in Boston, Washington DC (Glen Echo), Atlanta, Asheville, Minneapolis, Denver, New York, and on many tours around the U.S. Woody has also been on staff at a number of dance and music camps, including Fiddle Tunes, Cascade Contras and the Corvallis Dance Weekend (Oregon), Bear Hug (Montana), Lady of the Lake (Idaho), Raincoast Ruckus (Vancouver, BC), FolkMadness (New Mexico), Potato Run (Kentucky), the Alaska Folk Festival, the South Florida Folk Festival, and the 2008 National Folk Festival in Butte, Montana.
